ongoing one-on-one support
Personalized support for your next chapter
Whether you’re planning a sabbatical, navigating a transition, or looking for space to think through what’s next, ongoing support gives you a trusted partner to help you clarify your goals, explore possibilities, and move forward with intention.
Guidance that grows with you
If you’re feeling stuck in your work, in need of a change, or just torn about what to do in your next chapter, meaningful change often requires time, space, and support customized to what your situation. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all program, I can work with you create an approach based on your goals, timeline, and what would be most helpful as you navigate this period.
Our work together might include exploring a sabbatical, thoughtful reflection about a transition, thinking through what’s next, or just creating space to reflect and make more intentional decisions about work and life. I’ll never promise you’ll have all the answers immediately, but trust you’ll have support, structure, and space to figure out your next steps.
Not sure if you need ongoing support?
Working with me one-on-one is great if you’re navigating a transition, planning a sabbatical or intentional time away, or exploring what comes next and want more than a single conversation. It’s designed for those who want a trusted thought partner they can work with over time, dedicated space to reflect and trial ideas, and ongoing support as they make decisions and turn possibilities into action.
Ongoing support may not be the best fit if you’re looking to work through one specific sabbatical-related challenge or decision (a 90-minute consultation is likely a better option), want someone to tell you exactly what to do, prefer a fixed step-by-step program, or need specialized support outside my areas of expertise.
support customized around what you need
How It Works
Ongoing support with me is fully customizable, but will include regular one-on-one conversations (via video or phone) at your preferred cadence, email support between meetings, personalized resources and reflection exercises, and accountability and encouragement as you move toward your goals.
We’ll start with an initial (free) call to discuss our fit for working together, including your goals and desired outcomes. From there, we’ll determine a structure that fits your situation, including the anticipated length of our work together and meeting frequency and format. We’ll also discuss cost and payment options (and if your employer allows, you may be able to use professional development or research funds to cover the cost).
Once we’re underway, I’ll create a structured (yet flexible) plan based on your goals. Think of our work together as an ongoing conversation rather than a fixed program. We’ll use our meetings to explore ideas, work through challenges, and make thoughtful decisions, while the time between meetings gives you space to reflect, try things, and notice what you’re learning. As your goals become clearer or evolve, we’ll adapt our work together accordingly.
Why I do this work
I’m Liz, a professor who believes in the value of stepping back to move forward. I spent years focused on the next deadline, the next project, and the next achievement. Over time, I realized constantly pushing forward pulling me away from what mattered most. It wasn’t until I created intentional space that I could do the work to reconnect with what mattered to me. Those experiences have shaped the way I work with others. I don’t believe there’s one right way to spend a sabbatical or navigate a transition. My role is to help you use time and structure to make decisions that feel aligned with your own values and goals.
Explore working together
If you’re interested in ongoing support, the best place to start is with a free 30-minute call. We’ll talk about where you are, what you’re hoping to accomplish, and whether ongoing support feels like the right fit. If it does, we’ll discuss what working together could look like. If not, I’ll do my best to point you in a helpful direction.
Everything we discuss is confidential. If you don’t see a time that works for you, email me (liz@sabbaticalstudio.com) and we can see if something else is possible.
