Guided by experience
I’m Liz, a professor who has built intentional pauses into my academic career – formally and informally. These moments of reflection have helped me maintain focus, avoid burnout, and sustain a fulfilling long-term career in academia.
I also study identity, and I bring that perspective to this course. Seeing the world through an identity lens has showed me how powerful it can be to revisit who you are and what you want to prioritize in your life – so you can work with clarity, intention, and energy that lasts.
